Woolooware Shores South

A retirement beyond measure

The Taren Point waterfront residences, known as Woolooware Shores South, encompass the design and construction of 63 premium Independent Living Units (ILUs) across two new energy-efficient buildings, both connected by a meticulously landscaped podium level. This exquisitely designed waterfront development features purposefully integrated community spaces, including a gym, multi-purpose spaces, a consulting room, and a lounge and dining area. Extensive landscaping and a café complement the stunning views of Georges River, providing an exceptional living experience for future residents.

Work commenced on Woolooware Shores South (the second engagement for Growthbuilt at the waterfront site), in late 2020 and has been turning heads in the industry for all the right reasons. The overall masterplan, carried out over three stages, will ultimately feature six apartment-style buildings providing 183 retirement living residences and a residential aged care home.

The balance of functionality and aesthetics was crucial in meeting operational needs while creating a sense of home, with residences boasting generous floor plans, open living spaces, large private terraces, and superior finishes, all oriented for coastal views.

The site, built on existing landfill, presented several challenges, including stormwater drainage issues, flood and high water table concerns, ecological considerations, and heavily contaminated soil. Growthbuilt completed a successful four month Early Contractor Involvement process before being engaged under a D&C contract to complete the works.
